Since 2001,
the Charles B. Aycock Neighborhood, in partnership with the City's
Department of Housing and Community Development, has undertaken
several intensive planning projects.
Summit
Avenue Corridor Study
Working jointly, the City of
Greensboro and the neighborhood produced the Summit Avenue Corridor
Study, which charts a course for improvements
on the main thoroughfares through the neighborhood. It was adopted
by the City Council in September 2006.

Adopted by
City Council in November 2003, this plan lays out concrete goals
and actions for our neighborhood. It is our long-term blueprint
for action. If you want to know what our neighborhood is about and

The
Aycock Traditional Neighborhood Plan
The outcome
of a neighborhood planning charrette held in 2002, this book contains
a broad vision of our neighborhood's future. Its ideas were refined
and consolidated in the Strategic Plan for the Aycock Neighborhood
and the Summit Avenue Corridor Study. Although the TND plan
was not adopted as official city policy, it is nevertheless full
of great ideas.

Special
Thanks
None of the
above could have been accomplished without the assistance of many
people on Greensboro's City staff. We would like to thank especially
Stefan-leih Geary, Sue Schwartz, Dan Curry, and Andy Scott in
the Department of Housing and Community Development. Thanks also
to Chris Spencer and Adam Fischer in GDOT.
And thank
you to the Greensboro City Council, which has strongly supported
these efforts!
